''' How is anybody going to regret selling it? if you're at all aware of how you trade Bitcoin you can buy and sell every second of every day, the concept is very simple and if you've been trading long enough you can see the signals a mile away, you buy dips, buy low sell high, it's not brain surgery, that's how people with the most Bitcoin continue to have the most Bitcoin... depends on what your ultimate goal is but even if your ultimate goal is to just have more Bitcoin you can trade it on a daily basis and do that there are bots that will do it for you now. The concept is simple you have two Bitcoin. You sell one at $21,000 you put in $20,000 of that tether or whatever you traded it for, in for a limit by and then you made $1,000 profit right there and you have your two Bitcoin back. Or you buy $21,000 of Bitcoin at $20,000 so you are buying back 1.05 Bitcoin, and now you have 05 more than you started with take the decimal place and move it in whatever direction you need to to suit your financial status. you can buy as little as 10 bucks worth of bitcoin on binance, so like I said add some zeros or subtract them, and that's how you make money with Bitcoin on a daily basis. Saying to converting is stupid or you're going to regret it is some purist statement... And the person who made it probably isn't really holding any Bitcoin at all I would assume. I believe in the philosophy behind Bitcoin, a decentralized digital value storage system is a brilliant concept, you can send money anywhere in the world at any time of day and not have a bank overseeing your transaction or a government. But it sends me into another planet when people are saying you never cash it... then what do you do with it? you just sit there and stare at it? people who are saying that either are don't have any Bitcoin and just are commenting on something they're not familiar enough with to speak about, or they have so much of it they just don't know what to do with it, and if that's the case you can send some my way, here's a wallet address I just generated. I promise you the funds will go towards something awesome like a rocket ship. bc1qdqvxph06hpzpkl8ycqh7sgwhhg3ddhky7757jm ''' Context Link Go1dfish undelete link unreddit undelete link Author: billionaireastronaut

The Swipe Network (swipe.org) is the payment protocol that enables real-time crypto-to-fiat conversions for all of Swipe’s products and services (Wallet, Card, & Issuing). With the launch of the Swipe Network testnet, users can use the Swipe Faucet to grab testnet-SXP to use on the decentralized finance application. Users will be able to bond SXP to the Swipe Network smart contract as collateral to ensure the guarantee of conversions for these exchanges. Since Swipe facilitates real-time conversions on-demand, there is a reserve system in place to lock SXP and guarantee that the merchant and payment networks receive the exact fiat amount that it processes. Most of these processes occur off-chain and are guaranteed by Swipe at the moment, but now can be bonded by the community and on-chain. Users will receive 12% APY on their staked SXP within the Swipe Network. Swipe plans to enable staked SXP to earn the processing fees it charges in the future as well on top of the collateral rewards from staking. The main network for swipe.org will be launched in two weeks. Users can access the testnet from: https://testnet.swipe.org with a public faucet being released in the next few days. To promote the usage of Swipe Network, Swipe will be partnering with exchanges that will offer staking and enhanced initial rewards and will be announced soon.
Swipe Finance (SwipeFi) & SGV — Lending/Earning DeFi App built on Binance Smart Chain controlled by the community by the Swipe Governance Token (SGV) and Liquidity Mining.
Swipe is proud to announce its plans to launch a DeFi App on Binance Chain called SwipeFi which will enable Binance Chain tokens to be used to earn interest on their supply of collateral to the protocol and borrow against their collateral directly on the Binance blockchain. Swipe has been working with the core developers of Binance Smart Chain through the acquisition and partnerships between Swipe and Binance, to launch SwipeFi. Users have witnessed historical highs in transaction fees, gas costs, and delays using the Ethereum blockchain for Decentralized Finance (DeFi). Bringing a complete lending/earn protocol using the battle-tested open-source protocols, such as Compound, to Binance chain gives users an immense value proposition. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other assets are already wrapped and issued on Binance Chain and are verifiable on their native blockchains for cross-compatibility, which will give exposure to use these assets for supplying and borrowing from SwipeFi. There are stablecoins such as BUSD, TUSD, and others that are also guaranteed on their native chains, which are wrapped and issued on Binance Chain already. Therefore, the base layer of the collateral needed to start a project of this magnitude already exists. Binance.com offers simple on and off-ramps for converting the Binance chain version to the native version (example: BTCB to BTC and vice versa) as well as SwipeFi plans to open up decentralized bridges for this wrapping. Transactions on Binance Chain are considered one block finality, take less than ~5 seconds to complete, and cost a fraction of the price that it would cost on Ethereum. This will make DeFi transactions seamless and efficient. SwipeFi will initially support BTC, BNB, ETH, BUSD, TUSD, and SXP to supply or borrow. The protocol will be governed by a new Binance Chain BEP2 token: Swipe Governance Token (SGV). SGV will be used on the protocol to vote on proposals and governance decisions while earned through liquidity mining so that the supplier and borrowers of the protocol can be incentivized to participate in governance as well. There will be a total supply of 10,000,000 SGV ever in existence. On August 17, 2020, at 00:00 UTC, there will be a snapshot of SXP balances. There will be a distribution of 1 SGV per 100 SXP. This will give an initial supply of approximately 2,999,700 SGV with the remaining SGV to be mined via Liquidity Mining by supplying and borrowing on the protocol over a 5 year period. There will be no SGV sold or allocated to the team aside from what they already hold in SXP. This will enable users to mine over 70% of the total SGV supply over a five year period. Swipe will release the SwipeFi white paper and governance details by August 10, 2020, with plans to launch a testnet in September. --- Stay up-to-date with all the latest news from Swipe Website: https://swipe.io Twitter: https://twitter.com/SwipeWallet Facebook: https://facebook.com/Swipe Instagram: https://instagram.com/Swipe Medium: https://medium.com/Swipe Telegram: https://t.me/SwipeWallet & https://t.me/Swipe LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/swipewallet YouTube: https://youtube.com/SwipeWallet

''' Bitcoin uses cryptographic key "pairs" There is a public address and a private key (long string of letters and numbers for each) A simple way to understand it is a username(public address) and a password to allow sending money from that address(Private key do not share) That is basically the gist right there. Remember Bitcoin is a network so there are many many options from hundreds of vendors and open source projects to simplify the process and access the Bitcoin for you. These are called wallets. They manage your key pairs for you. To back up a wallet you write down a 24 word seed phrase(private do not share) this will allow you the leisure of not storing every single address you own and let the wallet store them for you. If your wallet is destroyed or lost this seed phrase is how you recover your coins. Only use trusted wallets that this sub can recommend you, use the search bar. You can get Bitcoin by earning it. ORRR trading from an exchange. Depending on your country and local laws this could be various different places. But generally Kraken, Gemini, and Binance are the most popular. Remember however, if your Bitcoin is not in your wallet or you do not have the key pairs it is in, then you do not own the Bitcoin. Keeping your Bitcoin on an exchange or another 3rd party is highly risky and vulnerable to hacks or the exchange just straight up stealing your funds or even government stealing your funds. So: Not your keys not your coins. Plus: Don't use Bitcoin "Doublers" or anyone claiming if you send them bitcoin they will send you back double. Plus: Don't buy altcoins, ICOs, or get involved with defi. A small story about how I discovered r/BTC, and some stuff I want to say
So, when I first went back to the Crypto community back November 2019, I was rather, hesitant. I just finished verification of a mobile wallet with BTC support called Coins.ph and it made me curious on the crypto it allows: BTC, BCH, ETH, and XRP. I went and shuffled money around, and once my father gave his 0.01 BTC he mined (which I lost like a fraction because of Binance, seriously that place is weird), I decided to keep it to my centralized bank. Fast forward to February, the bear drop of BTC and most crypto was like a new chance for me. I can finally get something good! So I tried the faucets. Which lead me to finding that CoinPot has decreased withdrawal rates. Well... BCH entered my crypto portfolio through Bitcoin.com. I'm just a gullible person. Any shiny thing and I go for it the last second. When I learned that BCH is actually faster than BTC (had tested the speed by placing PHP 500 or more or less 0.05 BCH , I took PHP 1,000 and placed it on my account. It was a fool's attempt, since Philippines just struck quarantine, and I can't do anything about it. The fast confirmation speed pre-Halving sold it for me, and I thought, maybe I can hold it for a while? After testing Keys4Coins by buying a steam card, it was really just a few minutes of payment, then I realized that BCH (and pre 2017 BTC) is really peer-to-peer. Back in 2019 until today I was trying to mine XMR (failed to retrieve it after dumping all my BCH and dumping XMR back, showing less money). Back in 2017, just a few weeks before the split, I was trying hard to get enough satoshis to have on my Electrum-built wallet. Which is currently empty. Right now, I decided to cash out 0.05 BCH because money is needed right now, and my PC froze while I was trying to mine Zcoin. I also decided to try a semi-unused coin named BLUR after asking you guys about what to mine with GPU. It's not worth it, mining. Now, let's say some things I want to say lately.
BCH and BTC came from one blockchain and one whitepaper. BTC doesn't follow the whitepaper.
BCH is not yet fully adopted. I know because while we have other countries adopt it, crypto news have it, trolls are fighting against it, there is not even one news of all in the mainstream media.
The IFP is a sound plan, but it doesn't work in the long run. It looks like a forced donation to some whitelisted addresses, which, while might help Bitcoin ABC, will turn Bitcoin ABC into our own Blockstream. Money does that to people, don't push it.
For some reason, I met this guy who claims that Roger Vers owes him $100. Nice guy, knows the good faucets and stuff. He's making a forum that uses Satoshis by the way. Here's a link: Bitcoin Forums.
Also for some reason, BTC trolls have a perspective that BCH is made up of BCH maxis, shills, and idiots. Let their perspective be unchallenged, even if it means that you need to agree to disagree. After all, they are only defending BTC. Let them stick to latest news too, because people don't read old stuff.
I wonder what Satoshi is doing right now? He's probably just lurking in the crypto world, mining his own dev node, doing something new with cryptography... he probably oversaw all this.
BTC is gold bars. BCH is gold coins melted from gold bars sent around. BSV is some shit I don't even understand why they even made in the first place, lol
Bitcoin is not just the name of an revolutionary idea, it's now a name of the first crypto. I have a feeling we will receive less trolls if we stop claiming Bitcoin Cash is true Bitcoin, because in name, Bitcoin (Core) is.
I wonder what will happen if Bitcoin reaches $4,999...
tl:dr; I'm an idiot with cryptocurrency, and BCH is working fine, no need to see anything here, just bored and going insane on quarantine
1)It is possible to change the code through a miner vote or a fork and change the total supply or anything. DASH did it : they reduced the total supply from 84M to 18.9M a few years ago. They could also increase it to 999 Trillions if they wanted to so that millions of DASH are mined every week. 2)You can also fork bitcoin anytime , start over from 0 and claim it's the real bitcoin. (BCH , BSV , BTG , LTC , BCD etc) 3)Why would you pay $10,000 for a digital collectible unit called BTC when you can use BCH or TRX or LTC .. you name it. They work just as fine and cost less. There is no rarity like in gold. 4)Think of any amount you hold in ethereum as a gift card to use smart contracts on the ETH blockchain. Ridiculous. You’d rather hold a wal mart gift card or even simply cash. 5)Private keys may be bruteforced as we speak. Quintillions entries a second. When they’ll have enough bitcoins under control , they could move them all at once instantly.(At least 45,000 ETH have been stolen this way for now through ethereum bandit)SHA 256 is too old , bitcoin is 10 years old , it is not secure enough , quantum computing could potentially break it. 6)And that’s if people don’t find a way to create an infinite amount of coins to sell on exchanges.. it happened with monero , stellar , bitcoin , zcash , zcoin , eos , etc.. proofs : “Bitcoin , Coindesk : “The Latest Bitcoin Bug Was So Bad, Developers Kept Its Full Details a Secret”an attacker could have actually used it to create new Bitcoin — above the 21 million hard-cap of coin creation — thereby inflating the supply and devaluing current bitcoins.” Stellar : “Stellar Inflation: Glitch Leads to 2.25 Billion Extra XLM Printed” Monero : “A bug in the Monero (XMR) wallet software that could enable fake deposits to exchanges has been recently brought to public attention through a Medium post” Zcoin : Forged coins were created, but not exceeding 1% of the circulating supply. We will release further details on exact numbers when Sigma is released. EOS : “Hackers Forge Billion EOS Coins to Steal Real Crypto From DEX “ Zcash : “Zcash Team Reveals It Fixed a Catastrophic Coin Counterfeiting Bug” etc.. 7)Segwit , and especially Lightning network is a very complex technology and it will inevitably have flaws , bugs , it will be exploited and people will lose money. That alone can cause bitcoin to drop very low levels. 8)Then miners may be losing millions so they will stop mining , blocks may be so slow , almost no transaction will come though , and bitcoin may not have enough time to reach the next difficulty adjustement. This is reffered to as a death spiral. Then every crypto even those with no mining involved may crash hard. 9)Many crypto wallets are unsafe and have already caused people to lose all their investment , including the infamous “parity wallet”. 10)It is NOT trustless. you have to trust the wallet you’re using is not just generating an address controlled by the developper , you have to trust the node the wallet connects to is an honest node , you have to trust a Rogue state or organization with enough computing power will not 51% attack the network. etc.. 11)Bitcoin is NOT deflationary. Bitcoins are created every blocks (roughly every 10 minutes) and you wil be dead by the time we reach the 21 million current hard cap. 12)Bitcoin price may artificially be inflated by Tether. 13)It’s an energy waste , an environmental catastrophy. 14)The only usecases are money laundering , tax evasion , gambling , buying on the dark net , evading sanctions and speculation. 15)Governments will ban it if it gets too big , and they have a big incentive to do so , not only for the obscure usecases but also because it threatens the stability of sovereign currencies. Trump could kill bitcoin with one tweet , force fiat exchanges to cease activity. 16)Most cryptos are scams , the rest are just crazy speculative casino investments. 17)It is pyramidal : early adopters intend to profit massively while last comers get crushed. That's not how money works. The overwhelming majority of crypto holders are buying it because they think they will be able to sell it to a higher price later. Money is supposed to be rather stable. That's why the best cryptocurrencies are USDT USDC etc.. 18)The very few stores accepting bitcoin always have the real price in the local currency , not in bitcoin. And prices like 0.00456329 BTC are ridiculous ! 19)About famous brokers listing bitcoin : they have to meet the demand in order to make money , it doesn't mean they approve it , some even short it (see interactive broker's CEO opinion on bitcoin) 20)People say cash is backed by nothing and losing value slowly , and yes it is very flawed , but there is a whole nation behind it , it's accepted everywhere , you can buy more things with it. 21)Everybody in crypto thinks that there will be a new bullrun and that then , they will sell. But because everybody thinks it will happen , it might not happen. The truth is past performance doesn’t indicate future performance and it is absolutely not guaranteed that there will ever be another bullrun. The markets are unpredictable. 22)Also BTC went from about $0.003 to the price it is today , so don’t think it’s cheap now. 23)There is no recourse if you’re scammed/hacked/made a mistake in the address etc. No chargebacks. But it might be possible to do a rollback (blockchain reorganization) to reverse some transactions. BSV did it. 24)In case of a financial crisis , the speculative assets would crash the most and bitcoin is far from being a non speculative safe heaven ; and governments might ban it to prevent fiat inflation to worsen. 25) Having to write down the private key somewhere or memorize it is a security flaw ! It’s insane to think a system like this will gain mass adoption. 26) The argument saying governments can not ban it because it is decentralized (like they banned drugs) doesn’t work for cryptos. First , drugs are much harder to find and much more expensive and unsafe because of the ban , and people are willing to take the risk because they like it. But if crypto is banned , value will drop too much , and if you can’t sell it for fiat without risking jail , goodluck to find a buyer. Fiat exchanges could close. Banks could terminate every crypto related bank account. And maybe then the mining death spiral would happen and kill all cryptos. 27) Crypto doesn’t exist. It’s like buying air. It’s just virtual collectibles generated by a code. Faguzzi, fugazzi, it’s a whazzie, it’s a whoozie.. it’s a.. fairy dust. It doesn’t exist. It’s never landed. It’s no matter, it’s not on the elemental chart. It… it’s not fucking real! 28) Most brilliant guys have come out and said Bitcoin was a scam or worthless. Including Bill Gates , Warren Buffet , The Wolf Of Wall Street… 29) Inflation is necessary for POW , BTC code will have to be changed to bypass the 21M cap or mining will die ! If BTC code is not changed to allow for miners to be paid reasonably , they will cease mining when the bitcoin block reward gets too low.Even monero understood it ,the code will have to be changed to allow for an infinite bitcoin supply (devaluating all current bitcoins) or the hash will decrease and the security of bitcoin will decrease dramatically and be 51% attacked 30) Don’t mix up blockchain and cryptos. Even blockchain is overrated. But when you hear this or that company is going blockchain , it doesn’t mean they support cryptocurrencies. 31) Craig Wright had a bitcoin mining company with Dave Kleinman (he died) and on january 1 2020 he claims he will be able to access the 1.1M BTC/BCH/BTG from the mining trust. He may or may not dump them on the market , he also said BTC had a fatal flaw and that by 2019 there will be no more BTC. 32) Hacks in cryptos are very common and usually massive. Billions of dollars in crypto have been stolen in the last 6 years. In may 2019 Binance was hacked and lost 7,000 BTC (and it’s far from being the biggest crypto hack). 33) Bitcoin was first. It's an ancient technology. Newer blockchains have privacy, smart contracts, distributed apps and more.Bitcoin is our future? Was the Model T the future of the automobile? (John Mc Afee) 34) IOTA investiguating stolen funds on mainnet. IOTA shuts down the whole network to deal with trinity wallet attack. 35) Compared to bitcoin other cryptos work just as fine and don't waste so much energy. 36 ) Everytime miners disagree on the updates it will create another version of bitcoin : problem of governance and legitimacy. 37) Cryptos are only legitimate if they act as a credit for a redeemable asset like USDT or gold backed coins. While the native language of the writter is not english , I think you get the point and it doesn't make it any less relevant.
Top 7 unique, high-potential cryptocurrencies of 2019 that are actually innovating the space
Right now, the top 20 has 2 forks of Bitcoin, Tether, an exchange's token, Ethereum Classic, and a few other projects that make this space look far less serious than it really is. On the other hand, you have many great projects out of the top 20 with huge potential going forward. The purpose of this post is to discuss the cryptocurrencies that I believe are exciting, different, and already have (or are extremely close to having) a working project. These are the projects that actually keep my faith alive in crypto among all the other BS out there. I'm hoping to outline a few projects you know, as well as some smaller ones. I will exclude Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP from this list, as everyone knows them already and what they do. This is NOT MEANT TO BE AN ALL-INCLUSIVE LIST - that means I'm definitely missing some projects. However, these are some of the projects I believe will make seriously large contributions to the space going forward. 1 - Nano. Reddit already shills the hell out of this coin, and it's for good reason. Nano is the single fastest and cheapest (100% free) P2P digital currency in the space, period. There's something to be said about sending somebody 50 Nano and them receiving EXACTLY 50 Nano, not 49.999 or something similar. Nano is an actual innovation in the space, with a very different codebase than other coins. It uses a block lattice (instead of using a blockchain), which is an incredible invention, and is reminiscent of the kind of innovation that ETH first offered for blockchain applications in 2015 - but for digital cash. Nano feels like what Bitcoin should have been from Day 1. Download the mobile app/create a web wallet and send some back and forth between the two - you'll understand why people are so bullish on this coin once you've tried it out for yourself. 2 - Monero. If any coin most clearly resembles the fungibility and privacy of using physical cash, it's Monero. It's the only major coin that is fully private by default, 100% of the time. The recent updates over the past few months have made Monero extremely cheap and fast to use, and if you haven't tried it out, I'd highly recommend it (MyMonero's web wallet is excellent https://wallet.mymonero.com). There's no denying this coin's potential to shape the space in the future as the top privacy coin. Monero has also proven to be highly resistant to bear trends, holding its price better than nearly every other top 40 coin in the last bear market. Lastly, the team is extremely competent and makes real innovations to this coin - between making transactions fully private, cost reduction/speed upgrades, and forking away from ASIC mining, this team has proven that they are little talk, ALL action, and committed to constantly improving this cryptocurrency.
Augur - This decentralized betting platform was one of the first Ethereum dapps ever planned, and took nearly 3 years to come to fruition. It is one of the most well-made, useful dapps running on Ethereum right now and has real users making markets every single day. You can bet on pretty much anything using Augur, and it's actually completely decentralized - meaning no third parties or governments who are unhappy with the content or types of bets being placed - can shut this dapp down. It does have a few issues for sure, but I am confident that they are minor and will be resolved in time as this market continues to mature.
IOTA - No matter what you think of this coin, IOTA's tangle is undeniably different. It's DAG-like technology is refreshing to see in a space where 98% of coins are just clones/forks of other coins - even if it doesn't work the way it should yet. It's possible that the removal of blocks and instead creating a tangle of transactions where every node in the network helps to power future transactions could allow for scaling beyond what current blockchains offer.
BitTorrent - I really hesitated to list this one. Do I agree with the way Justin Sun markets and overhypes every small meeting or minor project development? Of course not. However, there is no denying that this token will expose a TON of new users to cryptocurrency for the first time - arguably more than any other dapp token. BitTorrent, the application, is already being used by millions of users, and there's no denying that. This is a rare situation and no other cryptocurrency dapp has anywhere near the user count that this BitTorrent has. While I don't love Tron in general... it is largely an Ethereum clone with few advantages other than added hype...BTT is guaranteed to at least see some real-world usage and it might be good to own a few tokens.
Upfiring - If you like the idea that BitTorrent is putting forth (rewarding seeders), Upfiring is that exact idea - but their dapp is literally already out and nobody knows about it yet. I hesitated to list this project due to the low market cap, but it just might be one of the most useful dapps out there and one of the best uses of smart contracts. The dapp is awesome - super sleek and easy to use. In terms of high potential projects, this one is huge with around a 2 million USD market cap and really could explode at any time imo. You can download their dapp right now and share files on the blockchain, set a price in UFR for your files and earn crypto when others download them. Torrenting is one of the areas that I believe crypto will make a big impact in, since rewarding seeders is an excellent use-case to incentivize file-sharing. With an ATH of 40 million, it has reached 20x the current market cap before, so the price and hype level is currently low.
Major projects to watch out for due to being overvalued or other significant red flags (please don't downvote this post if you disagree with these - instead, let us know why you disagree in the comments): 1 - Litecoin. I'd certainly agree it should be in the Top 50 due to its fame status, but the #4 position is ridiculously high for a coin like this. Put simply, there is simply no major use case for this coin. If you wanted to use something as cash, Nano and even Bitcoin Cash are arguably both better options. At least Bitcoin serves as the standard for markets on exchanges. Remember that the creator of this coin has literally sold all of it as well - while arguably a smart move on his part, it's something to keep in mind. 2 - Binance Coin. Regardless of the fact that it is Binance, and Binance is great, this coin's entire value is based on a 100% CENTRALIZED business. That's a big deal. This means if something ever happens to Binance, for whatever reason, BNB's value will directly be affected as a result. In addition, a 4.5 BILLION dollar market cap for an exchange token is just a ridiculous market cap in general, even if it is Binance. Props to Binance for making this token so successful, though. 3 - Stellar. This is a big one, and I know I'm going to take some heat for listing this, so let me clarify. I really like what Stellar is doing with payments, for sure, but one thing that makes that all null and void from an investment standpoint - Stellar's team owns over 80% of the entire Stellar coin supply. Let that sink in for a second. 19,331,690,041 XLM is circulating among every single Stellar holder, while the team themselves holds 85,710,809,041 XLM. People tend to ignore this fact for some reason, but it's unfortunately a huge deal and requires that you put a ton of trust in Stellar's team not to casually sell millions of dollars worth of their XLM whenever they want more money. How would you feel if Vitalik owned 400,000,000 ETH? That's the same ratio to what the Stellar team owns. There's also been a ton of sketchy things that have happened with the team selling off millions of dollars worth of coins in 2017/early 2018 - you can search those in the search bar to read up on those incidents where users here tracked those transactions. Lastly, Stellar is a fork of Ripple. Not that this is a bad thing necessarily, but it's something to keep note of. 4 - Bitcoin SV. Yeah, it's pumping right now. Who cares, so are lots of coins. Ignore it, and maybe it will go away. This coin once again serves no real purpose and has no place being the #8 cryptocurrency with how many great projects are sitting below it. 5 - Ethereum Classic. This coin has already been 51% attacked SUCCESSFULLY, and it's value has gone up since then. In addition, no changes have been made to the coin to prevent such an attack in the future, and none are planned. No hard forks will happen to improve this coin, ever...that's because Ethereum Classic's main value proposition is immutable and irreversible transactions, Ironic - because the 51% attack showed that transactions on this chain are actually the exact opposite of this. Obviously, this coin should be avoided. And before you ask, why did I leave out... -Cardano: Interesting project but too far away from releasing their smart contracts to mention in this post. In addition, market cap is extremely high for not having a working product out yet -Tron: A hyped-version of Ethereum with few differences. Not necessarily bad, but not innovative enough to mention from a technological standpoint. I won't comment on their marketing tactics... -Vechain: It remains to be seen whether this use-case will ever play out using a public blockchain like this with real businesses. Certainly one to keep an eye on, but as of right now it's not being used on any sort of large scale -Qtum: Still has yet to find a real niche over projects like Ethereum, Tron, and EOS -EOS: Raised billions of dollars in their ICO but their platform still has many issues. There are some decent developments like Everipedia on it, but overall I decided to leave it out due to once again, not offering anything THAT innovative to the space, and the lack of decentralization (EOS team can freeze transactions) I'll update the top list as well if anyone provides me with good projects that I may have missed out on here!

''' I love it. I recommend it to everyone. THE GOOD
Trust wallet supports the most cryptocurrencies out of any other mobile app wallet that I've seen
Non-custodial, which means you own your cryptocurrency, not Trust wallet
You can stake five different cryptocurrencies and earn passive income in the wallet
You can use it as a wallet for crypto collectables. If you don't know what those are, read about them very briefly [here]1 .
Has a built-in DEX or decentralized exchange
Trust wallet is the official wallet app of Binance exchange, which is the largest exchange by genuine volume according to the [Blockchain Transparency Institute]2 .
Super simple to use, feels great, and intuitive.
The cleanest and most visually appealing of any mobile wallet (subjective, I know). Dark mode available.
Can have multiple wallets
Available on both iOS and Android
Trust wallet does not support Monero or EOS. This is it's only real downfall.
Understandable given the much more complex nature of Monero and EOS wallets.
No desktop app.
I don't care about this. Most people with a hardware wallet will just use their hardware wallet software on desktop anyways.
A new Nano trade exchange was launched a couple of days ago - Here's why anyone who remembers Bitgrail should be be very afraid
This is mostly a duplicate of my summarised responses to that exchange's original announcement threads here and in/nanotrade**.** The owners of that new exchange are welcome to downvote this new posting of mine, but everyone else can make their own decision about whether to upvote this for posterity's benefit, so that my post gets found in months to come (given that Reddit's search engine is really bad at searching comments.) Here's what's dodgy about this exchange, and why anyone who remembers BitGrail should be very afraid: I emphasise that I'm not saying this is a scam. But I am saying it looks like what a scam website would look like andappearsto be operating illegally under UK law: * The domain NanoTrade.co.uk was registered only two days (one working day) before the site went live - meaning it only could have been tested very briefly, (Edit: and could not have been secured against accidentally being taken by another person, which implies incredible lack of planning) * The domain was registered by NameCheap, with an obscured registrant * The site was not pre-announced on /Nano Currency nor /NanoTrade * The site was announced first on /nanotrade (6k subscribers), but only announced here on /nanocurrency (44k subscribers) three days later, demonstrating a lack of knowledge of Nano relative subscribers * The announcer Paradise2GE claimed Google and Facebook Ads existed prelaunch - but no one of you here saw them because you would have excitedly told us if you had * No such advertising for the site was noted by me, yet I would have been a key target for it * Since the domain was not registered, such advertising could not have included, say, a [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) mail form, which is incompetent in itself * Nano Associates Limited was registered with Companies House on 2018-02-28 (as company number 11229688) - to a London mail-forwarding company's central London address (a postcode with 11,000 companies registered at the same address) * Its sole Director 'Orlando Carugo' has no Google history of being associated with Nano, Cryptocurrency, or finance at all * Orlando Carugo's profession is listed as 'Sales Director' * The Google and LinkedIn history of an UK-based 'Orlando Carugo' (a sales professional) can be found, with no reference to cryptocurrency but with references to being willing to work for stock options or commission * The announcement on /NanoTrade was made by Paradise2GE - an account with a few questions on Bitcoin two years ago, a single comment one year ago, then absolutely nothing until this weekend. * We know nothing of the overall reputation of the company owners * The company uses a payment processor https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/VirWoX which has a daily limit on PayPal withdrawals of 2500EUR. The NanoTrade website however states that up to 90,000 Nano can be sold per PayPal transaction. It seems impossible to reconcile this for me. If 90,000 Nano is sold to PayPal, when would the seller get their money? * If the answer is that such payments cannot be made, when were the company planning to tell the sellers? * On being asked on /Nanotrade, Paradise2GE has avoided answering this question in their dissembling answers * The company is not registered by the FCA * The company is not registered by HMRC as a money service * It is a legal requirement for UK based companies to register as money services. * It is not a get-out to just deal in USD and not GDP, yet Patadise2GE has attempted to use that get-out in their answers * Paradise2GE has dissembled when answering questions as to why Nano Associates is not registered with FCA or HMRC * Paradise2GE claimed 1000 trades on their first day... for an unannounced site...purely from a posting that had around 40 up votes at the time. It's a lie. Not even Nanex gets that many trades on a good day. * Given a supposed 1000 trades in a day, 1440 minutes in a day, and 25% of Nano staked on Binance, we should expect to see >5Nano transactions coming out of the Binance hot wallet at least every 10 minutes or so. I don't see those * The site works poorly on Android, showing a lack of technical skill in its developers * The announcement of the exchange on /nanocurrency was by SMcArthurs - a one year old account, with very few postings, and no history in the /nanocurrency or /nanotrade subs * Someone downvoted my reasonable questions on /nanotrade. I can think of only one person who would want to do that, if malicious * Someone downvoted someone thanking me for my questions on /nanotrade. I can think of only one person who would want to do that, if malicious * User astricali has posted at 2018-12-03 05:00GMT that they made a successful sale of 999.99 Nano. I performed a text extraction of the posted image address, which they were apparently instructed to send to, but I notice that although that address indeed Received a 999.99 amount from the Binance Representative at 2018-12-04 02:17:01 (Timezone unknown), the address has never actuallyPocketed 999.99 Nano - the payment is still Pending. This is odd, since once might expect an efficient provider to pocket the Nano they receive asap, to sell it on the markets * The address has however received a range of 8 payments ranging from 1.99 Nano to 1,847.99 Nano. That surprises me, because I would expect a payment provider to use a unique address for each received payment. * The address has only ever sent a payment once, to KuCoin, on an unknown date before 2018-07-25 * Paradise2GE and SMcArthurs have been extremely quiet in response to these complaints levelled against their site * Edit: Why would they be selling Nano at 1.00 USD at the moment when Nano is on Binance at 0.94? * Edit: Seeing 403 Forbidden error 2018-12-05 23:38GMT * Edit: Don't even get me started on the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations Regulations 2017 * Edit: It's 12 days later - 18-Dec-2018. The 999 Nano still hasn't been pocketed at address. In 12 days neither promoter has denied that's it's their account. They are therefore probably incompetent even if non-malicious. * Also noticed something I should have picked up before: That address is Represented by Nanowallet.io - which means it's probably an account created on Nanowallet.io. Any 'real' exchange would need, at the very minimum, to run it's own node so that it can be online 24/7 - and if so would most likely Represent itself. Specifically choosing Nanowallet.io as their Representative after installing a full node would be an odd decision, given that they could help decentralize. 'm at way over 22 red flags here. I hope I save someone.

At 21:10:38 UTC on Nov 1, Xapo, a Bitcoin custody service provider, has conducted five whale transfers with the largest amount within one transfer marking up to 20,000 BTC. The total number of moved BTC in these transfers records 65822.01. Many of these BTC originated from the transfers of 4,999 to 10,000 BTC collected by Xapo on the Bitcoin chain at 19:19:49 and 19:32:12 on the same day. One of the main BTC sources initiated by the address starting with 37whD5 was crypto exchange Bitstamp. Previously, the above-mentioned exchange announced that its custodian would change to BitGo. Otherwise, Bitstamp had a great transfer with more than 110,000 BTC involved on October 15. At 20:53:20 on Nov 1, the wallet address beginning with 3AdpZc initiated a transfer of 5000 BTC to the exchange Poloniex. After analysis, the source can be traced back to the coins accumulated by Poloniex in March 2016. Generally speaking, the whale transfer carried out by institutions comes from the needs of business or customers. Sometimes, it is only the planned wallet management. Utah To Facilitate Voting For Disabled Individuals Through Blockchains Recent reports indicate that blockchain technology will soon be used in Utah, as part of a trial project meant to allow disabled individuals to cast their votes. To put things into perspective, the local council and government of Utah have decided to allow blockchain-based voting via smartphones in the upcoming municipal election that will take place in November. The platform that disabled voters will be using for this election represents the result of a fruitful partnership between the Utah Country Elections Division, the National Cybersecurity Centre, Tusk Philanthropies and Voatz, a local voting app development company. Ethereum To Increase The Blocksize By 8x Ethereum is partially addressing the many complexities of sharding by simply increasing the blocksize from the equivalent of about 1MB every ten minutes to circa 8MB. Danny Ryan, the Ethereum 2.0 coordinator, publicly said: “We are making the blocks bigger based on recent research on safe block size and propagation times, so the data availability of the system is still > 1MB/s so you can still get similar scalability gains when doing things like ZKrollup and OVM.” ZK rollups are a hybrid scaling method that combines on-chain security and second layer networks through smart contracts and zero knowledge methods. OVM is the Optimistic Virtual Machine from Plasma, with both being more sort of on top of Ethereum’s public blockchain. During the first quarter of the year, Bitcoin was trapped inside a tight trading range, where major players began buying the fear of retail crypto investors and accumulating the asset at the lowest possible prices. Starting in the second quarter, the first-ever crypto asset rocketed up from that trading range, and went on a parabolic rally that didn’t stop until Bitcoin met former bear market resistance at $14,000 where it was rejected. After three consecutive red monthly candles in a row, October closed green and kept a potential bull flag formation on monthly price charts intact, giving bulls hope that the crypto asset’s 2019 rally isn’t totally finished. A list of upcoming "Bitcoin fork" being promoted for "dividends"
The following comment was removed in /btcfork - not by any moderator afaics so I guess it was automated spam filtering. But it is an excellent example of how Bitcoin forks are being promoted to further the "dividends" agenda of diluting the importance of hard forks as methods for upgrading Bitcoin, and making them seem to serve no other purpose except money grabs or scams. This was posted by user "solracor" in a post titled "Próximas Bitcoin Forks 2017 - 2018 - Dados CryptoCurrency". It is recommended to be very cautious when dealing with these forks, no doubt some of them are outright scams which will try to get people to enter private details and keys on websites to steal their coins. I am posting this here only for awareness of possible scams. Get ready for a wave of Bitcoin forks! Bitcoin forks: 12 until early January! Upcoming Bitcoin Forks 2017 - 2018 Without further details, the following Bitcoin forks are planned for 2017 -2018 (we'll add more forks as they are announced and notes how forks occur):
Bitcoin Diamond (BCD) is a fork of Bitcoin that occurs at the predetermined height of block 495866 and therewith a new chain will be generated as the BCD. Bitcoin Diamond miners will begin creating blocks with a new proof-of-work algorithm, and will consecutively develop and enhance the protection for account transfer and privacy based on original features of BTC. This will cause a bifurcation of the Bitcoin blockchain. The original Bitcoin blockchain will continue on unaltered, but a new branch of the blockchain will split off from the original chain. It shares the same transaction history with Bitcoin until it starts branching and coming into a unique block from which it diverges. As a result of this process, a new cryptocurrency was created which we call “Bitcoin Diamond”.

To summarize the above and connect some points, Super Bitcoin and BitcoinX are Ethereum competitors (as they use smart contracts like the Ethereum network), Bitcoin Platinum and Bitcoin Cash Plus are basically competitors of Bitcoin Cash (Bitcoin's competitors as currency ), Lightening Bitcoin is a blend of Super Bitcoin / BitcoinX and Bitcoin Platinum / Bitcoin Cash Plus (since both are designed to be competitive as currency and uses smart contracts), and Bitcoin Silver and Bitcoin Uranium are competitors of Bitcoin Gold ( competing for Bitcoin as a valuable store that is profitable for mine), and finally Bitcoin God is a Chandler Guo Christmas gift (simply meant to reward people for having Bitcoin). This may sound crazy, but if you think about these as user-triggered dividends, it starts to make a little more sense. To ensure you get your coins from the Bitcoin forks up to the Bitcoin, you are holding: Make sure to be in a Bitcoin wallet that supports the forks (Coinomi multiwallet with over 300 different coins has been good on this), an exchange like Binance with a good record of support forks (Binance supported Bitcoin Cash, Gold, Segwit2x, Diamond and Super Bitcoin and offered futures on the snapshot date or around the date of each snapshot, meanwhile as a user pointed out, hitbtc has been good at supporting forks, Super Bitcoin futures have been traded on hitbtc immediately after the fork, for example), or otherwise being in control of their private keys when forks occur (for example, in a portfolio like Bizcoin Core)! “Bitcoin enables certain uses that are very unique. I think it offers possibilities that no other currency allows. For example the ability to spend a coin that only occurs when two separate parties agree to spend the coin; with a third party that couldn’t run away with the coin itself.” – Pieter Wui (66 points, 14 comments)

''' Real Example, NOT AN ADVISOR! Take from my experience what you want. I simply feel compelled to share a real life experience. I have opinions and will express those but they are still "just my opinion." My eyes have been opened to a new world in a very short period of time. I am still learning so much and definitely do not have an ultimate understanding of Bitcoin and all things related. I plan on documenting my experience for the benefit of those who care to observe so watch for continuous posts. I am just a regular guy who decided to take a chance and buy some Bitcoin. I bought in with $7000 at the beginning of December 2017 (two weeks ago at time of this post). I had just recently freed up some available cash and decided to use some (not all) to invest in Bitcoin. I purchased using my bank account through Coinbase via two separate transactions and the process was very simple. I will warn you though there is a significant waiting period when depositing from a bank account. It took several days for the transaction to become available to use but I was locked in at the Bitcoin price at the time of purchase which was just under $11K. So I actually earned a nice profit while waiting for the transaction to complete as the price was rising so rapidly. I opened up another wallet on Binance which is where I transferred the full balance of my investment which at the time was around 0.6 Bitcoin. My reason for moving money to Binance is because I wanted to also be able to invest in other cryptocurrencies and Binance is an exchange that lists almost 100 different coins. I had no idea prior to this that so many new coins even existed but found that new coins are created very frequently (I plan to discuss this and other topics in more detail in later posts). I proceeded to use the balance of my Bitcoin to trade on other currencies (just like a stock market). I did research on some of the tokens and some I just trade based on volume and action (like a day trader would do). I started off with my toe in the water but soon realized that there are tons of new investors doing the same thing that I am which means there is lots of new money pouring into Bitcoin and the other currencies. I rode a few really big surges as carefully as I could. I monitored the coins I invested in very closely using multiple devices and apps to help with notifications and price alerts (so far BitUniverse is my favorite app for alerts). Up to Tuesday (12/12/17) evening I had just been in learning mode. I had made a few conservative trades and had turned my $7,000 into $10,200. Most of that increase was from Bitcoin itself going up and up. I started trading a little heavier on Wednesday and continued to make what I thought were smart trades through to Friday. Again Bitcoin accounts for most of my gains at this point but by Friday night I had approximately $15,000 which equated to about 0.84 BTC. Friday night I invested heavily in a coin called XVG (Verge). I went to sleep with my notification app set to alert me if the price of XVG should suddenly drop. I slept great because I had been so exhausted from a week of meticulously watching prices of BTC and its companions. I awoke around 5am and quickly realized I had not gotten any notifications of a price drop of XVG. I grabbed my phone to check the price and found that I had gained 25% overnight. I watched the price and ended up exiting the position around 6am bringing all funds back to Bitcoin. Now I had over .75 Bitcoin. Saturday 12/16 was an eye opening day for me. After my big overnight gain with XVG things continued to get better. Bitcoin rose from $18,100 to $19,700. I made several trades throughout the day and was flabbergasted by what I witnessed. It was obvious that lots of new money was flowing into the hundreds of alt coins available for trade. I would estimate that 80% of the coins were significantly up while Bitcoin itself continued to go up. That could only happen if more money is flowing into the system. I made what I consider some very big trades throughout the day, mostly capitalizing on huge surges in XVG and TRX. On Saturday alone I was able to turn .75 BTC into 1.12 BTC all while Bitcoin was holding steady or going up in value. You can do the math on what 1.12 Bitcoins is worth. I plan to continue trading until I have 2.0 Bitcoins at which time I will cash out my original $7,000 investment. That is my plan anyway, there is always the chance that the "Bubble" could burst or I make some really stupid trading decisions and end up losing all of my investment. If so, at least I took a shot. I hope this post gets some attention. I do not see many real experience posts online or anywhere else, maybe I am just not looking hard enough. Just my opinion, but I think Bitcoin and many other cryptocurrencies at least have potential to be something big. I am personally willing to wager some (not all, not my life savings) of what I have on that potential. Hit me up with questions, I hope to continue posting updates on my experience. I promise to even post if/when this whole thing crashes and I look like the laughing stock. Meanwhile, be smart with your money. Do not risk what you cannot afford to lose...Ever! Sorry!
